The decor of Cataplana gets inspiration from a host of different styles: classical, modern and rustic come together in a comfortable, cosmopolitan environment. Modern art on bare brick walls. Soft lights on linen tablecloths. A bar and accompanying wine rack that are well worth studying. But the surroundings serve only as a background to the dinning experience... as it should be.

Cataplana gets its name from the hammered copper cooking and serving dish that shows the Moorish influence on Portuguese cuisine. Open one at your table to reveal tender clams and chourico sausage and leeks in white wine and tomato sauce....or an exquisite combination of lobster, clams, scallops and shrimp simmered with saffron and Vermouth. Other choices include rack of lamb, hearty steaks and daily specials. Desserts are homemade and vary but consistently call for a glass of Port wine.
